Classified Advertising Guidelines and Policy
Thank you for considering using the Brent Gill's Business Traders Market section of Central Valley Business Times. We hope that it will provide you the opportunity to sell items you have around your business that you no longer need, or find items you would really like to have.
There is no charge for this service to you, at least for the time being. Thus, there must be some ground rules in order that everybody is able to use this service to a positive advantage, while not TAKING advantage.
What we are making available to you is a market place in which you can sell items used in business, whether it's a fax machine, an entire 18 wheel truck and trailer, a 5,000 gallon water tank, or a nice office desk. Things you use in your daily business endeavor, and no longer need, or things that you would like to own. Thus, the rules are:
- No Stock In Trade. In other words, the product you wish to sell should NOT be something you make a living selling, or that you sell on a regular, resupplying, basis.
- No real estate, leases, or property or buildings for rent.
- No recreational vehicles, motor homes, travel trailers, boats, unless it is specifically set up to exclusively use as a part of your working day, such as a trailer set up as an office to use on site, etc.
- Cars and pickups are OK, but please limit it to vehicles you have used in your business, not the kid's tricked-out pickup, or the old car you chose not to trade in when you bought a new one for home.
- Multiple items should be listed individually, not under one listing "...at various prices." If you have several items that you are planning to sell as one group as "all or none", then of course, that is acceptable. However, "$xxx for all, or $yyy each" is not acceptable.
All ads are subject to review by the staff of Central Valley Business Times for appropriateness and suitability.
A phone number and name, which you can choose to have NOT show in your ad, is mandatory in case we need to speak directly to you about your ad. Exclusion of this info will prevent your ad from being posted to our web site.
When first submitted, all ads will go into Inactive status, thus not visible, until they have been reviewed, and any needed corrections have been made. Every attempt will be made to clear submitted ads as quickly as possible, and put them into Active status so that they can be seen. However, Central Valley Business Times takes no responsibility whatsoever for the sale, or lack of sale of listed items. No statement of quality, nor value is made, nor implied. Caveat Emptor is the watchword.
