• Claims a grudge impedes talks
• Not likely, says city manager
The impasse between the city of Stockton and Stockton Firefighters Local 456 of changes in the current labor contract boil down to a grudge, says the president of the union.
But Interim City Manager Keven O’Rouke says he’s not aware of any grudge between him and the union and suggests the claim is a smokescreen.
The union held a news conference Wednesday afternoon after a Superior Court judge rejected its request for a restraining order stopping the city from shutting down regular operation of Ladder Truck 4 and reassigning the 15-member crew.
