Athletic Supply Corporation of Stockton, which has been selling to schools in California since the mid-1960s, has a lot of gloves in stock. But to survive the Great Recession, it’s had to take off the figurative gloves and embrace new ideas such as using social media like Facebook to expand beyond the company’s traditional base.
