Recreational vehicle and outdoor retailer Camping World says it plans to open a new retail store in Fresno later this year. An exact date was not announced.
The new location will be one of 90 the firm has in the nation and one of nine in California.
The company says it picked the Fresno area because of the diverse culture, agriculture and historical points of interest, as well as support of city officials.
The location, which also has not been announced, is to include both a Camping World retail store and Camping World RV Sales dealership, the company says.
"By increasing the growth of both the retail and dealership locations in our network, Camping World is getting closer to achieving our goal of truly being the one-stop shopping location for the RV and outdoor enthusiast across the country," says Marcus Lemonis, chairman and CEO of Camping World.
Fresno is the second new market identified in the California area in 2012 with the recent Redding location announcement with plans to open in May 2012.
The Fresno operation is expected to hire about 25 to 30 new employees, the company says.
"Our goal is to expand our business into new areas, and we are very excited about serving the Central California community," says Mr. Lemonis.
