For the American palate, pomegranate juice can be a tough sell because it often seems a tad astringent.
“I couldn’t understand why the juice in the grocery stores didn’t taste like the fresh fruit,” says John Ferreira, managing partner at Perfect Pome of Lodi.
To solve that problem, he and his partners had to come up with a different way to make pomegranate juice. But that was just the beginning.
