Agriculture Secretary visits California this week

On Monday, Dec. 10, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack travels to Trinity County for a town hall program on agriculture, forestry and “other issues important to rural America.”
Mr. Vilsack is expected to talk about the importance of rural America and the economic opportunity for rural communities through forestry, farming and ranching, the biobased economy and more at the town hall set for 5:30 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Weaverville.
On Wednesday, Mr. Vilsack is scheduled to visit the 40th annual Almond Industry Conference in Sacramento. He will visit the exhibit floor and deliver remarks on the importance of agricultural exports, especially the United States’ role as a world leader in almond exports.
