• Mary Stutts
has been named regional vice president of external affairs for California by Comcast Corp. Ms. Stutts will oversee all aspects of Comcast’s communications, government affairs, community investment and telecommunications policy matters throughout the state. She will be based in the company’s Livermore office.
For the last 23 years, she has held a variety of external affairs leadership positions at Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and health care companies, including Genentech, Kaiser Permanente, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Bayer and UnitedHealth Group. Most recently, she served as vice president of corporate communications at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
• Cara Whitley has been named chief marketing officer for Squaw Valley Ski Holdings LLC, the parent company of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski resorts.
Ms. Whitley will assume responsibility for all of the company’s marketing and sales functions, including brand marketing, advertising, public relations, CRM, loyalty programs, sales efforts and strategic alliances.
She joins the Squaw Valley team from American Express, where she served as vice president, strategy and business development for the company’s U.S. loyalty group, overseeing key strategic initiatives and partnership development in the US.
Prior to joining American Express, Ms. Whitley held leadership positions with Hilton Hotels Corporation, Epsilon and several advertising agencies including Grey Advertising.
• Chris Peters joins DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance as employee benefits director. Based in the company’s Fresno office, he will lead the firm’s employee benefits department with the specific task of assisting clients with healthcare reform.
Mr. Peters has 27 years of experience in the health insurance and employee benefits industries, including spending 14 years as the Central Valley regional sales manager for Anthem Blue Cross. He spent the last five years as the broker sales executive for Benefit Mall. He is a registered health underwriter and past board member of the Central California Association of Health Underwriters.
• John Eisenhut of Turlock has been appointed to the California Air Resources Board.
Mr. Eisenhut has been manager of grower relations for Hilltop Ranch Inc., an almond processor in Merced County, since 1994 and owner of Eisenhut Farms, almond orchards in Turlock, since 1975.
He fills the vacancy on the board requiring an expertise in science, agriculture or law.
Before working for Hilltop Ranch, Mr. Eisenhut, 67, was a field representative for the Dole Dried Fruit & Nut Co. in Fresno from 1989 to 1994, and a technical staff member at both Tecolote Research Inc. from 1975 to 1976 and the General Research Corporation from 1972 to 1974.
This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $41,889.
