Allen Fishman

Small business owners struggling to find real success may not know all of the “seven secrets” of the best entrepreneurs, says Allen Fishman, a Colorado-based business consultant and author.

Mr. Fishman, who has written “7 Secrets of Great Entrepreneurial Masters: The GEM Power Formula for Lifelong Success,” says it’s more than just hard work and sacrificing today’s pleasures for tomorrow’s gains.

“Most people spend more time planning the details of a two-week vacation than they spend planning their lives,” he says.

Mr. Fishman says his “secret” of taking a look in the mirror is a way of saying entrepreneurs should, from time to time, objectively review their strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and potential problems they and their businesses may face.

He says by having that realistic and achievable vision, it will provide the direction for where to best to focus time and energies.
