They are out there. All 700 million of them. These are the monthly active users claimed by Instagram. Ignore them at your peril, if you are a small business trying to sell goods and services.
Ask Jeremy McGilvrey, who kind of stumbled into the Instagram world when it was new and fresh and now is described as the top Instagram expert.

Mr. McGilvrey says 2017 will be the “year of the influencer” in the Instagram world as the human factor is added back into the retail mix, even if it is delivered over the internet and not across a showcase in a brick-and-mortar store.
“When you connect with an Instagram influencer, they personally promote and they personally endorse your product or your service or your business or your idea,” he says.
He is the author of several books, the newest of which is “Instagram Secrets,” which is being published this month.
