• ABC gets a new director
has joined Ellis Law Group LLP of Sacramento as an associate attorney whose practice primarily focuses on consumer claims, including class actions brought under the FDCPA, Rosenthal FDCPA, EFTA and TCPA.
Prior to law school, Mr. Ceglio developed a background in banking at Wells Fargo Bank. During the summer of his first year of law school, he interned at Hayabusa Asuka Law Offices located in Tokyo, Japan.
After taking the California State Bar examination, Mr. Ceglio clerked at Corey, Luzaich, de Ghetaldi, Nastari & Riddle LLP in Millbrae.
• Jacob Appelsmith, 53, of Sacramento, has been appointed director at the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Mr. Appelsmith has been chief campus counsel at the University of California, Davis, since 2013. He was senior advisor to the Governor in the Office and director of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control from 2011 to 2013. He held several positions at the California Department of Justice from 1994 to 2011, including special assistant to the attorney general.
This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $176,691. Mr. Appelsmith is a Democrat.
• Albert Jones, 60, of Fresno, has been appointed to the No Place Like Home Program Advisory Committee. Mr. Jones has been a custodian at the California State University, Fresno, Association Inc. since 2003. He was a dishwasher at the County Plaza Coffee Shop in 2002, an in-home care provider for Fresno County Adult Protective Services from 1999 to 2000 and an environmental services aide for Carondelet Health Network from 1997 to 1998.
This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Mr. Jones is a Democrat.
