• The goal is to generate $350,000
The Visalia Rotary Community Foundation and College of the Sequoias have partnered on a new event to raise money and develop awareness of the President’s Scholars Program.
The Rotary Craft Beer Festival fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 14 at the Porter Field House at COS. It will feature craft beer producers from the area along with barbequed meats. Tickets are $50 per person. Tickets for the VIP pre-event, starting at 5 p.m., are $100 per person. The goal is to generate $350,000, which will support seven COS students through the program.
The President’s Scholars Program is for students who have excelled academically in high school. Those who meet the program criteria and are selected are granted a full-ride financial scholarship and support services throughout their tenure at COS.
The intent of the program is to encourage Visalia’s best and brightest students to remain in the area after graduation. The Visalia Rotary Community Foundation now has an endowment of more than $1.5 million dedicated to scholarships, and a total endowment of more than $4.5 million.
