• Lara Atchabahian,
an internal medicine specialist, has joined Visalia Medical Clinic.
Ms. Atchabahian completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. She then went on to receive her medical degree from Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed her residency program in Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.
• Monika Diaz has been promoted to news director of KTXL, the Fox television affiliate in Sacramento.
She had been assistant news director under Ed Chapuis, who left the company to take a job as news director for KGTV in San Diego.
Ms. Diaz joined KTXL as a reporter in 2014. Earlier, she was a reporter for KXTV, Sacramento; WFAA, Dallas; WSVN, Miami; and KSTS, San Jose.
• Kevin Chan, 44, of Elk Grove, has been appointed special assistant to the state fire marshal at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, where he has been an associate government program analyst since 2016. He served in several positions in the Office of the California Secretary of State from 1998 to 2016, including staff services analyst, program technician and office assistant.
This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $69,156. Mr. Chan is registered without party preference
