• Next it's from the gutter to the silver screen
• Entrepreneur follows his passion and builds a business
John Lewis is following his passion, moving from gutters to show business.
John Lewis has followed thousands of gutters to realize his true passion.
Mr. Lewis is chief executive officer of Commercial Gutter Inc., headquartered in Modesto with a manufacturing plant in Rocklin and a warehouse in Fremont.
He has built his company from a startup eleven years ago with the main business being cleaning gutters to a multi-million dollar enterprise with more than 30 employees and a worldwide market for a product his company developed -- Gutterglove.
The Gutterglove gutter guard is made from extruded aluminum and a very fine stainless steel mesh and is installed on gutters to keep leaves, twigs and even sand-size material from clogging the gutters.
(Mr. Lewis talks about his business, the development of his unique product – and his true passion in life in today’s CVBT Audio Interview. Please click on the link below to listen or to download the audio to your iPod or PC.)
Mr. Lewis sees his company gradually becoming more of a manufacturing company with the Gutterglove product covering more gutters and taking an increasing amount of concentration.
But all that pales when compared to his true passion – making motion pictures.
He and his partner, Robert Lenney, are planning on producing a big screen, family-oriented movie, largely using Mr. Lenny’s production office in Modesto.
The money comes from the gutter – three million feet of gutters, cleaned and protected, Mr. Lewis says.
