The Bank of America Charitable Foundation has given ByDesign Financial Solutions, a Central Valley non-profit organization, two grants totaling $85,000 to help it serve homeowners facing foreclosure as well as outreach to the Hmong community.
The largest grant -- $60,000 – will help pay for ByDesign’s one-on-one homeownership preservation counseling in Fresno and Stockton. The funding will assist low- to moderate-income homeowners who are behind in their mortgage payments or in the process of foreclosure.
Funding for the Hmong outreach covers the delivery of ByDesign’s financial workshop series to youths in association with the Fresno Center for New Americans, Fresno Interdenominational Refugee Ministry, Stone Soup and the Southeast Asian Institute for Advancement; adult-focused personal finance workshops and sponsorship of the "Hmong Financial Solutions" radio program on KBIF-AM.
"ByDesign depends on charitable contributions to keep our counseling and education programs
afloat," says Martha Lucey, president and CEO of ByDesign Financial Solutions. "For years, the Bank of America Foundation has been there for us by supporting our most valuable local initiatives.”
ByDesign Financial Solutions is a non-profit organization that markets itself as Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Valley.
