Tamara Navarrette, 28, of Visalia has been sentenced to four months in federal prison, four months of home detention and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $48,000 from Tucoemas Credit Union in Tulare County.
Ms. Navarrette embezzled the money when she was a membership representative in the Tucoemas Credit Union’s Whitendale and Cypress branches, says Assistant U.S. Attorney Laurel Montoya, who prosecuted the case.
The members whose accounts were fraudulently accessed ranged in age from 65 to 97 years, prosecutors say.
Before pleading guilty, Ms. Navarrette made full restitution, the government says.
