• She gets probation and loses her job
• Boyfriend gets 18 months in prison
Andrea Lynn Gravelle, 38, of Modesto, is no longer a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. Instead, she’s been fired and put on three years probation for her part in a scheme to launder counterfeit money.
Rick Lee Snow, 46, also of Modesto and described as Ms. Gravelle’s boyfriend, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for his part in the scheme.
The defendants were ordered to pay full restitution.
Ms. Gravelle conspired with Mr. Snow to accept counterfeit bills in exchange for cash and postal money orders while she was working at the counter in the Hughson Post Office, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Rodriguez, who prosecuted the case.
The couple successfully passed over $700 in counterfeit $20 bills before being caught.
Ms. Gravelle was a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service and had performed counter clerk and assistant manager duties at a number of U.S. Post Offices in Stanislaus County.
