From food processing and manufacturing to increased tourism by promoting the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, small businesses have opportunities to grow in the Stockton region, say experts at a small business and economic development workshop Monday afternoon.

The more than 100 business owners attending the conference sponsored by U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, at the University of the Pacific heard about business training, tax incentives, export opportunities and access to capital, including small business loans, and venture capital.

“There are a lot of programs out there that can get money to small businesses,” says Mr. McNerney. “If they’re willing to work hard, I think they’ll find the right opportunity for themselves.”
